Scope Of Work
S. M. Wilson renovated and constructed the Pine Ridge Plaza Shopping Mall in Lawrence, Kansas – the city’s first retail “power center.” The 100,000 SF project consisted of renovating the existing K-Mart facility to house four tenants: Bed, Bath & Beyond, TJ Maxx, Michael’s and Cost Plus World Market.
The Pine Ridge plaza shopping center in Lawrence, Kansas, is an example of updating an older structure and incorporating customized entryways for each of the tenants. This project included demolishing thirty feet of the rear of the existing structure in order to install four new receiving and dock areas; reinforcing the new exterior wall; and installing utilities to meet tenant deadlines. Individual fire lines with separate risers, domestic water, power and gas lines were installed for each tenant. The project also required working around existing businesses.
