Winmar Construction is excited to be the selected contractor for the highly-anticipated Moxy Hotel, Marriott’s first location in the nation’s capital. Slated to open in winter 2017 at the intersection of 11th & K St NW, the hotel will incorporate a historic mansion located at the site now and add in a 13-story tower behind it. The design will include exposed concrete columns, polished concrete floors and open ceilings with 200 micro-units working on keyless entry.
With a focus on community, rooms encompass a smaller footprint whereas common areas are collaborative. Rooms will include motion-sensor, under-bed lighting, an open-storage area, a small workspace, the ability to stream media from guest devices on in-room screens, keyless entry and free Wi-Fi. The property will also feature a rooftop lounge and a street-level outdoor patio as well as a live Instagram Wall, which will be designed to capture real-time images from Moxy travelers across the world.
