Scope Of Work

After the wild success of the first Quirk Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, developers Ted Ukrop and Christian Kiniry partnered again to create this sleek and stylish Charlottesville location. Martin Horn worked together with the owners and architects during the preconstruction phase to begin assessing cost and submitting documents for permits and approvals. After two years of construction and overcoming obstacles, including the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic, Quirk Hotel Charlottesville, opened its doors for business in 2020.

Located in historic downtown Charlottesville, Quirk Hotel offers copious amenities including 80 luxurious guest rooms, two restaurants, lobby bar, rooftop bar and lounge, art gallery, coffee shop, whiskey lounge, fitness area, and outdoor lawn. Martin Horn worked side-by-side with designers from ARCHITECTUREFIRM to make as beautiful and elegant, yet comfortable of a hotel as possible. The minimalist contemporary style tastefully contrasts the historic homes adjacent to the hotel.

Art is the central focus and driving force of Quirk and is not limited to the spacious bi-level gallery but lives throughout the entire property. Artwork is sourced from local artists and gives Quirk Charlottesville a truly unique interior. The grand centerpiece of Quirk’s interior is the lobby bar. Alternating archways in the lobby give a sense of movement to the space. The rooftop bar and lounge offer breathtaking views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. On the ground floor of Quirk Charlottesville is The Pink Grouse, a luxurious yet cozy fine-dining restaurant.
