Scope Of Work
JMB managed the construction of a new 135,000 SF Wal-Mart retail store in Kennett Square, PA. Located on a former mushroom farm, this project involved extensive sitework (24 acres) prior to beginning construction on the building. Also included in the scope were road and signal improvements to Route One as well as rebuilding Schoolhouse Road, a local township road. This work required JMB to coordinate with PennDOT as well as the local township prior and during this work. This Wal-Mart was designed with an atypical facade–a “barn-like” appearance to fit in with the natural surroundings. Construction on this project was approximately 8 months.
