Description of scope of work
The new 5-story addition, plus cellar, along with the renovated existing building is expected to serve over 2,000 students grades pre-K through 5. The new addition, comprised of precast concrete panel façades with window walls and glass block details, will feature two cafeterias, a new gymnasium, as well as a new enclosed playyard. There will be several separate exercise rooms and art classrooms in the new addition. New addition work also includes 3 staircases and two passenger elevators. Work in the existing building includes asbestos abatement and demolition of existing structures and finishes for the creation of several new classrooms and support offices, such as a guidance suite. HVAC system upgrades in the existing building will include a new rooftop ventilation unit, several new fans and fan coil units, and associated duct, piping, and temperaure controls work. Both buildings will be integrated on one new fire alarm system.
