Scope Of Work
ICS served Barnes & Noble as General Contractor for interior fit-outs, expansions, and restorations of three retail bookstores located in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, Chelsea, and Greenwich Village. ICS performed the work on an “accelerated fast-track” schedule at the Barnes & Noble Manhattan Flagship Store located on the Avenue of the Americas’ in Chelsea. Renovation and restoration of land marked interiors required reproducing lost architectural details in plaster and wrought iron. The Fifth Avenue store required extensive shoring and underpinning for the installation of a new hydraulic elevator to access the lower level of the building. The projects also included the construction of Starbucks Coffee outlets at all locations.
