Scope Of Work
The CHP plant generates steam sold to Rayonier Performance Fibers for use in the operation of its cellulose specialties’ production facility.
To improve this process, the CHP plant looked into a new CoGeneration system. This system provides approximately 50% of Amelia Island’s electric requirements. On-island generation reduced line losses and mitigate risks due to a single transmission line. Another benefit of the project is that it provided steam flexibility for Rayonier Performance Fibers. This helped to optimize plant operations and, in turn, provided financial benefits to the local economy.
