Scope Of Work

Rose Street Advisors, whose office is located within the historical 1926 Salvation Army building in Downtown Kalamazoo, partnered with AVB to renovate their 4,000 SF main level. The vision was to not only create an inviting atmosphere for clients when they walk through the door, but to reimagine this work space to inspire productivity for their team.

To encourage spontaneous team collaboration, the design of the new main level intentionally incorporates casual seating throughout. What once was two kitchens, breaking up the teams who worked on the upper level from those on the main level, became one kitchen space for the multi-story office; now one vibrant area employees from every department can collect & mingle within. The detailed planning shines through the design in the conversation inspiring round tables for all conference rooms, encouraging brainstorming & discussion. Sound dampening clouds & noise machines were cleverly installed to help control the buzz created in an open concept office space & from an active upper level. Influential room scheduling technologies, in the form of iPads at conference room entrances, increase ease of scheduling & self-sufficiency throughout the office. Finally, the preservation of the original gym floor as a one-of-a-kind feature wall in the largest conference room brings instant character & history to the new modernized space.
