Scope Of Work
Hogan Construction Group is the Construction Manager at-Risk for the new 12,000 SF Scott Candler library. This facility replaces one of the oldest branches of the DeKalb County Public Library system. The new 12,000 SF library will be near the intersection of Candler Road and Northview Avenue and will feature a larger collection and new amenities to service the 52% projected population growth in the area over the next 25 years. This is one of nine libraries in a county-wide program to upgrade the library system through additions/renovations or new library construction.
December 17, 2010, marked the groundbreaking ceremony of this new library. The library’s architect is Sizemore Group, who also handled the interior design. Scott Candler will be built to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s requirements for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Certification.
