Scope Of Work
This $14 million project for the Coast Community College District was completed in 2008. Being a state-of-the-art Health/Science building, it included classrooms, nursing training rooms, patient care, laboratories, and administration offices. At 24,000 SF and three levels, the project included two types of metal panels, wood siding, plaster, CMU, CMU veneer, channel-glass, and storefront. This full-automated facility will train future health-care providers while saving energy costs. Being a Higher Education DSA project, experience and knowledge to construct this facility in 12 months was a challenge. Drilled Piers / Grade Beam / Pile Cap rebar congestion further added to the challenge of completion of this facility so it would be ready for the fall semester. There were (84) 24” x 64’ drilled piers on this project. With the Owner allowing 1 month of float in the overall project schedule, DJM was asked to coordinate the FF&E with the Owner Vendors to ensure a safe and on-time occupancy.
