Scope Of Work
Linda Vista is the adaptive re-use of a hospital that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located in the historic eastern Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights. The main hospital building was converted to 97 affordable apartments for seniors by the prominent architecture firm, Killefer Flammang, to Secretary of the Interior Standards.
The Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Dept. funded $13,636,000 for the foreclosed property, including U.S. HUD NSP funds. A 9% LIHTC allocation of $12,861,000 was awarded in 2013, along with $6,500,000 in Historic Tax Credits.
The 2.7-ac. site is located near bus lines and the Gold Line light rail, Hollenbeck Park, and a market. The first phase of renovation was the 23-unit Nurses Building, completed in 2013.
Amenities include a community room, conference room and rooftop deck, computer lab and patios with shaded seating and barbecue area.
Linda Vista is certified as LEED Gold.
