Scope Of Work
This Missouri Department of Transportation project consisted of building three new structures at 650 Mulberry Street in Kansas City, Missouri: a maintenance/office building, a storage building and a salt storage structure. This challenging project was built on an existing “Brownfield” site requiring Rothwell Construction to follow a stringent risk management program to prevent the mobility and exposure to chemicals in the ground water and soils. Working with both MoDot and MDNR Rothwell Construction was able to implement a soils management plan to handle the contaminated soils and complete the building construction on time and in budget. The work began in the early fall in 2008 and in the beginning months of 2009. Bob Richards lead the project as the Senior Project Manager with Noel Ross the onsite Superintendent. MoDot utilizes these facilities for winter weather road care equipment and supplies.
