Scope Of Work
The Van Norman Water facility is one of the major supplies of fresh water for the City of Los Angeles. Our Project for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) involved the construction of two chemical treatment plants to add ammonia and chlorine to potable water to create chloramine disinfectant. The Project is part of LADWP’s plan to convert from chlorine-based disinfection to chloramine-based disinfection to comply with the US EPA’s regulations. We constructed two 9,000 SF concrete buildings that housed the chlorine and ammonia injection systems along with chemical safety and intrusion systems and a new computer operating system. To feed the new plants we installe three new 12 foot diameter pipeline mixers.
