Vancouver, WA
Status:

Scope Of Work

As a subcontractor to Cascade Bridge, McDonald performed all associated earthwork and utilities, including 3 bores under the BNSF rail yard, and casing all utilities within the railway. We constructed large embankments for the bridge approaches, and all other roadwork.

Our company was hired by Cascade Bridge to complete all of the earthwork, grading, and utility installations on the Vancouver Rail West 39th Street Bridge Project. The bridge crosses over a busy BNSF™ rail yard that has previously been blocked for the past several years. This passage is a necessity to travelers between downtown Vancouver and Fruit Valley Road. To date, this has been our largest single contract, and includes excavation, embankment construction; water, sewer, and storm utilities; retaining walls; and many other challenging tasks required when working in and around a live rail yard.

The final portion of the work performed by McDonald excavating was the rebuilding of business access and other entrances. With strong roots in small business, McDonald Excavating recognizes the importance of keeping access to the area businesses open.
