Scope Of Work
Collins provided full on-site and off-site improvement design for the transformation of the dated 1960s-era University Park apartments into a new on-campus housing community near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Collins’ services included a Technical Drainage Study and a Traffic Impact Analysis.
The project included construction of a new complex with 2-bed/2-bathroom and 4-bed/4-bathroom configurations along with a fitness center, group study rooms, and social lounges. One of the most striking features of the new complex was a 2,000-square-foot resort-style pool with cabanas and barbecues. The project site consisted of 14 acres, with the potential for up to 3,000 beds at full build out and a budget of $76 million.
This project was funded through a public-private partnership. The Midby Companies financed and developed the project through a 40-year ground lease (UNLV owns the land) and managed operations in partnership with the national firm, Asset Campus Housing.
