Scope Of Work
STEVENS Engineers & Constructors received the contract to install the H-Piling for the foundation support for the newly designed Dresden Energy Facility from Williams Service Group. The Dresden Energy Facility, a combined cycle power plant, is owned and operated by Dominion Energy. This site was previously rough graded when STEVENS began to work at the facility. Included in the scope of the contract was the final excavation required for each of the major foundation footprints.
Facts: Excavation – 19,000 cy
H- Pile installation – 1712 pile; 85,300 LF total; 200 splices
Description:
STEVENS performed the excavation work during late fall and through the winter under severe weather conditions. This enabled work to begin in early spring on the foundations, followed by the summer erection of the equipment. STEVENS met the proposed 7-week schedule through the utilization of 3 pile driving rigs and an aggressive 6-day work week schedule.
STEVENS had an impressive performance and safety record on the piling installation and was subsequently awarded the foundation contract for the Dresden Energy Facility foundations. STEVENS always strives for quality workmanship and a safety-first environment, making them a leader in the industry.
