Scope Of Work
Orlando International Airport Airside Terminal 2 increased the airport's capacity, while supporting the city's vision for the future.
Clark added 16 arrival/departure gates as part of the Terminal 2 project. Sheathed in dramatic façade of glass curtain wall and metal and porcelain panel, the structure is complemented by an extensive tension truss skylight system. The project team also installed a fully-automated ground transportation system to connect the terminal with the airport's central base.
Airside Terminal 2 allowed Clark to assist the City of Orlando with their goal of becoming a "a meeting Mecca." According to William C. Peeper, then president of the Orlando CVB, and the airport was a central component of their plan to increase business and tourism traffic in the city of Orlando. Clark, in a joint venture agreement, also constructed the Orange Convention Center Expansion, another key piece of this initiative .
