Scope Of Work

Soon after engaging NCI-Roberts for preconstruction as part of a capital campaign, the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center was named the 2019 recipient of the FLOOR360 Design for a Difference Madison makeover. NCI-Roberts donated services, accelerated the process and worked hand in hand with the makeover team.

In the first floor main Yahara room, a landing was transformed into a janitor room, and a suspended ceiling was removed to expose the original vaulted wood ceiling. In the adjacent kitchen, a vestibule was removed, a roll-up counter door was relocated and new cabinetry and shelving were installed.

Lower level renovations included reconfiguration to create a larger art room, computer room and new exercise room. Interior surfaces and materials were replaced throughout, and HVAC, electrical and plumbing were updated. Insulation was added for increased energy efficiency, and exterior remodeling was completed to prevent future water damage.

The renovation preserved the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center's charm and ability to serve the community as a "place for everyone" for years to come.
