Our Story

WHY DOOR SYSTEMS

Door Systems was started in 1954 as a commercial garage door service business expanding to the service and installation of all makes and all types of doors and dock equipment offered in the commercial/industrial/public/private market segments including residential service and installation for the homeowner.  Our services are available 24/7/365 provided by the most experienced technicians and installers in the industry with factory-trained union carpenters and iron workers with continuous up-to-date training and AAADM certification backed by a 70 fleet of service trucks and installation vehicles.  Door Systems operates out of Naperville, Illinois providing service and installation in the greater Chicago market in a radius of 150 miles.  Door Systems is a member of ASA Chicago, BOMA, and Builders Association and is rated A+ by the BBB. Recent Safety Performance Recognition:  Door Systems is a 2012 Safety Award recipient from ASA Chicago and the Builders Association.  Door Systems received a 2014 Safety Award from ASA Chicago and was a top five Finalist for the 2014 Excellence in Safety Award also from ASA Chicago. Door Systems is a 2015 Safety Award recipient from ASA Chicago and a top three finalists for the 2015 Excellence in Safety also from ASA Chicago.  Door Systems is a 2015 Safety Award recipient from the Builders Association.  Door Systems is a 2016 Safety Award recipient from ASA Chicago.

PRODUCTS/SERVICES

SERVICE and INSTALLATION of Automatic Pedestrian Doors, Hollow Metal Pedestrian Doors, Wood Pedestrian Doors, Revolving Doors, Overhead Sectional Doors, Steel Rolling Fire Doors, High Speed & Impact Doors, Gates, Dock Levelers, Seals, & Truck Restraints, Electric Operators and all related equipment.

Our Automatic Pedestrian Door unit, manufactured by Record, offers:

•             The exclusive SMART panel display pad (information in the why we are better brochure) which performs a complete diagnostic evaluation of the door during each and every cycle and if it detects an anomaly, it displays such on the screen. This allows the end user to determine if a simple adjustment is required, a reset, or even which part has become problematic. This system alone saves thousands on possible service calls annually.

•             Electronics allow for both low wattage consumption and energy efficiency

o             The Standby load has been tested at 25 watts. This is when the door is closed at rest and set on automatic mode, with other peripherals connected such as sensors, locking, etc.

o             The maximum loading (continuously in full operation) has been tested at 100 watts.

o             The nearest competitor is 2 ½ times this draw.

o             The cost to operate our door is less than $25.00 per year

•             Automatic resizing technology provides for adjustments in door opening and closing width after every cycle should the door determine a wider opening is required due to heavy pedestrian traffic or two way traffic. When pedestrian traffic slows, the door automatically detects this and reduces its opening to save on air conditioning and heating costs. This is an exclusive feature.

•             Standard two year warranty

•             Door cycle count standard

•             The ability to advise the end user of performing a daily safety check, who to call for service and when their planned maintenance is due- all through the display pad!

•             Fluid, smooth and quiet operation- the quietest in the industry bar none.

Door Care Service Agreements and Maintenance and Inspection Programs designed for building facility needs and maintenance requirements providing the Door Systems Advantage to minimize down time, breakdowns and reduce operating costs, Drop Testing of Fire Doors, AAADM Certified Inspection Program.

Door Systems is able to mobilize resources to provide Emergency Service to repair building openings as well as create openings for new doors.
