Scope Of Work

In 2012, Hydro-Marine Construction Co., Inc. was retained by Kemron Environmental Services, Inc. to perform emergency repairs at Sayreville sewerage plant. The sewerage plant was damaged during Superstorm Sandy, causing leakage into the Raritan River. Due to the high environmental impact, the project was fast tracked to prevent further contamination. Hydro-Marine divers inspected the area to determine leak cause and to repair it. Since the site was classified as a confined space and sole access was through a vertical shaft, a chain fall leverage system was used to lower the diver down the hole and to lift him back up. Per OSHA/ADCI regulations, a five man dive crew was used to perform the dive with an EPA representative on site. Divers determined a broken gate was causing the leak. Gate repairs were completed within two days. Hydro-Marine and HazMat crew members worked closely together to ensure all safety standards and decontamination procedures were met during the entire project.
