Scope Of Work
Shasta Lake is one of the largest lakes in the western United States, with 365 miles of shoreline at full capacity. This project included erecting suspended scaffolding and removing the existing lead coat from the structural steel components of the Spillway Bridge superstructure as well as the bearings, catwalk support, and the mechanical and electrical utilities attached to the underside of the bridge. After sandblasting and abatement, the bridge was repainted. Because of the hazards in lead abatement, several environmental controls had to be implemented to protect the surrounding environment. Kevcon also replaced and tightened fasteners that were either missing or loose at the rocker bearing assemblies and at the flash board mechanisms.
