Jordan Foster Construction is restoring and renovating the historical, 19-story Plaza Hotel, first built in 1929. The 16-month project duration includes work on this unique project which entails the complete renovation of interior hotel rooms and all public spaces, restoration of all historical features in the building and exterior preservation. The hotel will be a 4-Star hotel returned to its former glory. In addition, construction has begun on an adjacent 6-story parking garage with a 541 space capacity. This cast-in-place concrete parking garage will feature architectural elements similar to the Plaza Hotel and provisions for retail and restaurant spaces on the first level.
Jordan Foster Construction entered into a Strategic Partnership Agreement with the OSHA El Paso area office specifically for the Plaza Hotel Historical Renovation project. This partnership is designed to address the hazards within the construction industry, and to promote and recognize a jobsite controlled by a contractor that has demonstrated an effective safety and health program. The partnership is consistent with OSHA’s long-range efforts to develop a contractor/government partnership approach to safety management. It allows for better use of OSHA resources and innovation in safety management and encourages increased participation in the safety process from the construction community. Through the course of the project it is anticipated this partnership will impact the lives of over 500 individual employees.
