Scope Of Work
Blue Rock completed a two-phase project that delivered a state-of-the-art Library and Information Technology Center to Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
The first phase consisted of a renovation of the existing library building that included two separate structures completed in 1952 and 1977.
The second phase comprised of a 65,000-square-foot, four-story addition to the existing building linked by a four-story atrium.
One of the central challenges to this project was the need to protect, maintain and often restore the historical and ornate interior finishes while implementing whole-building MEPFP system upgrades.
In addition, the historical restoration had to be implemented and coordinated within the same timeframe as the state-of–the-art upgrades to the existing building. This requirement presented a unique coordination and logistical challenge that the project team met.
