Scope Of Work
A new international terminal at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport required a new aircraft fueling hydrant system relocating numerous hydrant pits.
Argus Consulting provided fuel system design oversight hydrant fueling system expansion at FLL to serve Southwest Airlines’ new International Terminal. This included design new five gate hydrant system with double wall piping, relocation hydrant pits at four existing gates to accommodate new Terminal, a new isolation valve vault, modifications to existing interstitial leak detection monitoring system, a new Emergency Fuel Shut Off system with buttons at each of five new gates.
To support new concourse, design included tying in at least one fuel lateral a new molded fiberglass pit assembly at each five new aircraft parking positions. Installation new hydrant pits laterals included excavation for new lateral tie- to existing fuel main, backfill compaction up to bottom pavement subgrade section.
Accommodating for airport parking concourse design
New EFSO stations were provided at each five Concourse A aircraft parking positions. new EFSO stations were connected to a new fire station style panel located within new Concourse that is compatible with other terminal EFSO panels.
With the expansion Concourse B to accommodate improvements to interior , this also included reconfiguring aircraft parking positions at several gates relocating six hydrant pits around concourse.
