Scope Of Work

When the W.L. French Excavating Corporation was ready for a  corporate headquarters and maintenance facility that would include 10 drive-through maintenance bays, a heavy equipment wash bay, parts storage, and service management offices, it turned to Connolly Brothers. As W.L. French Vice President Jessica French Goyette explains, “Connolly is well known in the commercial/industrial design-build world and understood the approach we wanted to take with our  headquarters.”

Connolly worked closely with the W.L. French team to maximize a 22-acre site in Billerica, Mass. The 48,000 square-foot maintenance facility is home to five-ton and 10-ton overhead cranes, a truck tire carousel, and a diesel filter cleaning system in addition to the maintenance bays. With a focus on promoting health, wellness, and productivity in the workplace, the 12,000 square-foot office facility includes a fitness center, meeting spaces, and collaborative workspaces. Together, the  buildings provide  technologies and energy efficiencies and the ability to handle demand for operations tied to W.L. French’s continued growth.

A partnership between two multi-generational family businesses, Goyette says the results were a major success: “Thanks to Connolly’s expertise and diligence, we were able to stay within our budget and achieve our design and construction goals.”
