Scope Of Work
Construction of a Type I hangar to accommodate V-22 Osprey Aircraft with an attached two-story operations and administration building. The entire structure is built on a reinforced concrete pile foundation with the hangar bay (49,000 SF) constructed of structural steel cantilever trusses to provide a continuous 515’ wide by 95’ deep hangar bay opening. The hangar bay skin is composed of metal wall panels and vertical lift fabric doors and a standing seam metal roof. Interior amenities include AFFF fire suppression system, infrared heaters, compressed air, two five-ton bridge cranes, 400 hz Converters and grounding loops. The operations and administration area is a two-story (23,500 SF per floor) structural steel facility with CMU and drywall infill, housing aircraft maintenance support facilities. This includes corrosion control, sampling, tool storage, avionics, flightline and airframe shops, flight equipment, maintenance control, teaching classrooms, and offices. The exterior skin and roof are the same as the hangar bay with inclusion of some blast resistance windows. The project was completed within an existing operational airfield and also integrated ATFP requirements. Project is pursuing LEED® certification.
