Scope Of Work
Thirty-eight 9-5/8” diameter micropiles, averaging 53 feet deep in rock at each of two piers to upgrade the foundations for the replacement of the Dick Henderson Bridge for the West Virginia Div. of Highways. The micropiles were installed through the water from a work deck on the coffer cells approximately 35 feet above the top of the riverbed. Grout placement for the micropiles was required to be by pressure grouting through the top of the micropile pipe that was 35 feet below the work deck.
