Scope Of Work
Pioneering architectural and green-construction techniques on a landmark project.
This challenging project demonstrates Grand River Construction’s ability to produce high-end architectural finishes with concrete, while also showcasing our innovative techniques to support environmentally friendly construction. With close coordination between management, other contractors and suppliers, Grand River Construction performed 177 separate architectural concrete pours, each of which had zero tolerance for rework (patching was not allowed). With meticulous attention to detail, we constructed and installed each wall form to allow for form tie alignment and water-tightness. The result is an exceptional addition to the Grand Rapids skyline––a structure that uses concrete’s thermal mass properties to help keep the interior warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
