Exterior repairs and historic restoration

Property
Mixed-use (retail and residential) five-story building located in the Ladies’ Mile Historic District of Manhattan. Constructed in 1870 and featuring an ornate cast iron facade and corner pavilion with a tall slate mansard roof, it was originally the home to the third Lord & Taylor Dry Goods store. Designated a New York City Landmark in 1977.

Highlights

  • Original decorative cast iron facade details repaired where possible or replaced with fiberglass replicas.

  • Main, bulkhead, and tower roofs replaced. Original slate shingles on mansard and pavilion roofs reinstalled where possible or replaced with matching slate.

  • Historic wood windows and doors refurbished.

  • Entire facade repainted.
