Our Story

DB Sales has provided boiler, industrial equipment, HVAC and plumbing solutions to Southern California for more than 35 years. We partner with the best manufacturers, worldwide, who share our commitment to using responsible approaches for more energy efficient buildings and meeting Ultra Low NOx requirements.

DB Sales opened for business in 1978.  Current president Steve Mertz purchased the assets of the company in 2010. He has accelerated partnerships with other manufacturers, adding experienced sales personnel, and increased inventory to support company growth.

Steve holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, B.S.M.E. from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He’s been involved in boiler system design and application for more than a decade and has advanced expertise in designing steam and steam boiler systems, high efficiency hydronic, and domestic heating systems.  He is also experienced in many other types of HVAC and process equipment.

One of Steve’s main focuses has been on partnering with manufacturers who offer “green” solutions.  DB Sales’s expertise in providing high efficiency chiller plants, high efficiency pumping solutions, and high efficiency air handler solutions are an important component of the company’s growth. Additionally, DB Sales provides solutions that meet all of California’s very stringent Ultra Low NOx guidelines.

The company is known as an expert in identifying energy efficiency equipment rebates offered by Southern California utilities, and helping its clients secure the rebates.
