Scope Of Work
NorthStar performed this remediation project at a former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site (ISS) project located in Portland, Maine. The scope services consisted primarily removing over 2,000 cubic yards (cy) impacted sediment from the Fore River. The work area extended roughly 50 feet from the shore and was required to be performed in the wet, while working from the landside. This necessitated the installation a heavy section modulus steel sheetpile wall with grouted joints at the shoreline and the use a long-reach excavator to remove impacted sediment furthest from the shoreline while working from the land side the sheetpile wall.
