Scope Of Work
Designed by Benjamin Greer McDougall of McDougall Brothers Architects, 115 Sansome is a tripartite monumental Beaux-Arts masterpiece located at the corner of Bush and Sansome Streets in San Francisco’s Financial District. The building was commissioned by the Standard Oil Company in 1912, two years after their major oil discovery in California. 115 Sansome is clad in Colusa Sandstone and pressed brick with glazed terra cotta accents, and topped with two tiers of engaged terra cotta columns surmounted by a copper cornice.
ARG Conservation Services was retained by the Swig Company to survey the deteriorating sandstone and terra cotta of the south façade at 115 Sansome Street. ARG Conservation Services implemented temporary repairs of the corroding structural metal to secure the property, and subsequently performed long-term stabilization.
