Scope Of Work
Lopez Salas Architects provided interior and exterior renovations of two buildings that make up the new 19,221 square foot Palomino Center. Both buildings were completely gutted inside and renovated to modernize them and make them more functional for students and faculty.
Interior renovations and efficient space planning services were performed to reorganize workstations at the Welcome Center, Financial Aid office, Admission and Records office, Computer lab, Veteran’s Affairs as well as staff offices, conference rooms, storage and kiosks within the facility. Renovations included the total removal and replacement of the exterior masonry, windows, EIFS and windows, complete updating of the existing IT system and replacement of 75% of the roof including the metal barrel vaulted roof. The exterior concrete block veneer and plaster was completely replaced with an integral color concrete block that gave the building a much more clean and refined look, and corrected the water penetration issues that plagued the structure many years.
A comprehensive new campus North Entryway was also designed that gave the facility a new identity and provided much-needed connecting covered walkways from the Palomino Center to four adjacent buildings.
