Airside and Landside Expansion
Sorensen Gross provided pre-construction services, construction management and general contracting services for this 78,000 square foot terminal expansion; 50,000 square feet of new construction and 28,800 square feet addition/alteration. Airside expansion included the Golf T Hangers and Storage Tanks. The budgeted amount for this project was $12 million. By reviewing all design drawings prior to release for construction, we were able to make revisions to the layout of facilities and utilities saving the airport $1.8 million. This project was completed three months ahead of schedule. Landside expansion included the addition to the passenger terminal with related demolition, landscaping, signage, boiler and chiller replacement, HVAC and electrical construction. This was a two-story addition to the ticket lobby consisting of 11 ticket counters, 3 offices and bag pick up areas, and 3 takeaway belts. The addition is structural steel with standing seam metal and PVC membrane roofs.
