Challenge
Reconstructing lives is in this client’s blood. A specialist in medical products for joint, spine, neurovascular and traumatic injuries, they believe that education gives the best competitive foothold. Their 75,000 SF education and training center for orthopaedic replacement surgery needed rebranding. Initially working with an outside architect resulted in an unsustainable $1.5M design plan for updating the space. Our client was unable to assess the proposed design for cost restraints and the architect couldn't reconfigure within their desired scope.
Design Build Value
Based upon the architect’s original design concept, Dacon utilized value engineering achieving the desired aesthetics at a 20% cost reduction. Seeing the benefits of design build, this client engaged Dacon in 76 projects spanning offices, lab space, master planning and warehouse conversion.
