Challenge
With BBDC life is in the details. One of the first proponents of early detection through advanced imaging, BBDC desired a facility with private accommodations for ultrasound, stereotactic and mammography services. A key design challenge was retrofitting an existing office to create a space that would accommodate future upgrades for large MRI equipment as technology advanced.
Design Build Value
A core objective was patient sensitivity with a focus on visual and acoustic privacy throughout the clinic visit. This was solved with full-height insulated walls surrounding each step of the patient visit. To enable feasible changes in equipment upgrades, a masonry opening was covered with a 7 foot glass window that allowed MRI equipment to be extracted. By facilitating DPH approval, Dacon completed this design build project within 8 months.
