Scope Of Work

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s new Red Line Station along Mayfield Road offers convenient service and access to public transit. The station, extending under the overpass with canopies and lighting, links University Circle and the historic Little Italy neighborhoods.  The station design re-imagines the massive concrete bridge abutment and transforms it as a bright precast “lantern” that serves as a beacon. Waves of stainless steel mesh and lighting accents highlight the main entrance and plaza while providing a new gateway to Little Italy. Further enhancements include artwork components that serve as wayfinding elements and are seamlessly incorporated into the station to evoke the presence of a strong, vibrant Italian community in the neighborhood. Working in conjunction with surrounding development, the new station provides a multi-modal transit hub for the emerging Uptown District and historic Little Italy,  emphasizing the area's identity as a true connected and vibrant Transit Oriented District.
