Integrity and Service are key for Southland Construction. The old adage, "throwing good money after bad" can definately hold true in the areas of construction and facilities management services. Hire a construction company that doesn't know its job and it could cost more to repair the damage done than it would have been to have the job done right in the first place. It's important to find a company that you can trust, and Ken Hayden, president and CEO of Southland Construction believes that they may be just the ticket. Southland Construction, located at 3942 Valley Avenue in Pleasanton, California is a firm that not only takes pride in doing good work, but takes customer service very seriously.
"Our primary products and services are Designing, Building, New Ground-up Construction, Commercial Remodeling, Tenant Improvements, Medical Facilities, Industrial and Office Maintenance and Facilities Upgrades. In the Retail industry, we do tenant improvements for most of the Bay Area Malls," Hayden says. "However, the work we do doesn't tell the whole story. What sets us apart is that we listen to our customers and deliver what they want. Nearly 80% of our customers are repeat customers who believe enough in us and our services to contact us exclusively."
Southland Construction was founded in 2000, right here in Pleasanton. The company started out doing smaller projects like tenant improvements, then continued to develop that business while moving into larger facilities and industrial maintenance. During the next few years, the company expanded into larger projects such as designing and building facilities for the medical and health care industry, in addition to continuing to service Tenant Improvement customers. Southland has constructed a variety of businesses, including Veterinary Surgical suites, Physical Rehabilitation facilities, Urgent Care facilities for private hospitals, and Automobile Service facilities.
In the area of commercial tenant improvements, Southland does work for organzations like General Growth Properties, a company that owns, develops, and operates shopping malls in 44 states. Southland has completed over 30 projects at the Eastridge Mall in San Jose and has provided its services to malls throughout Northern California. As for facilities maintenance, Southland serves a number of clients in the area, including United Parcel Service (UPS), Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN) and Jack-in-the-Box restaurants. "For our facilities maintenance customers, we can be available on-call 24-hours a day."
"Our motto is, 'How can we serve you?,'" Hayden says. "We're 100% service-oriented and, while we may not be the least expensive option for construction and maintenace, our service is impeccable. Our goal is to provide service with integrity, keeping our clients' interests always at hand and first." This attention to service and quality has paid off for Southland. The Company's revenues have doubled every year since the company began and Hayden expects the same kind of growth for the future. "We're not out to get the quick dollar," he says, "We're winning customers by building trust with the highest quality workmanship at a fair price."
