Those are just three of the upgrades the Barton Malow Technology team implemented within Brighton Area Schools as part of a district-wide K12 technology improvement project. Others included the addition of collaborative learning environments, district-wide wireless infrastructure, an IP telephone system, 10G network infrastructure, cabling infrastructure, and a network video distribution system, among others.
The additions came following a visionary session with more than 20 Brighton Area Schools teachers and staff, as well as community members. More than 30 teachers also participated in pilot programs featuring the various technology upgrades and K12 classroom configurations. In the end, the project was so impressive that Brighton Area Schools was selected to host the annual MIGoogle Conference, a two-day event attended by hundreds of Michigan educators throughout the state to learn about innovative uses for Google tools in the classroom.
