Arena / Stadium

Scope Of Work

Legion Field "Football Capital of the South" is a historic stadium originally constructed in 1927.  The University of Alabama Crimson Tide was tenant from 1927 to 2003.  "The Old Gray Lady" now hosts "The University of Alabama Birmingham Blazers".  Since 1946 Legion Field has been the site of the "Magic City Classic" and since 2006 the BBVA Compass Bowl.  When Atlanta was selected as the 1996 Summer Olympic site, Legion Field was to host the Olympic Soccer matches.   Coston General Contractors, Inc. were chosen to expand the field dimensions and convert the synthetic turf to a 12" sand based rootzone with nature a turf and a P.A.T. drainage system.  In 2006,  Coston was called on again to convert the field from natural turf to a rubber infield synthetic turf system.
