State-of-the-art Athletic Campus

The new Doddridge County Athletic Complex is a state-of-the-art athletic campus, including three turf fields, an indoor athletic facility, and a multi-use building housing brand-new locker rooms and Board of Education offices. The first of its kind in West Virginia, the site – directly beside the current high school – provides safety and convenience for students, families, and employees, while bringing economic development to the county. The facility will connect the small, rural community with ample opportunities for health and fitness and allow space for local and state athletic events with flexible, all-weather facilities.

The Thrasher Group provided all architecture and engineering services on this project, including site development, utility work, survey, environmental permitting, and architectural design. The team transformed an undeveloped hillside on a 14-acre flat pad for the turfed football and baseball fields, one-of-a kind track, athletic locker rooms, and Board of Education offices. Although some unforeseen issues arose during the process, The Thrasher Group’s expertise, communication, and relationship with Doddridge County allowed the project to be completed before the first home Friday night lights game.
