Scope Of Work
We have successfully contracted with North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) since the 1980’s. In order to meet the growing demand of water in the north Texas area, NTMWD designed a project that diverts return flows from the East Fork of the River and conveys the return flows through a constructed wetland prior to delivery to Lavon.
This portion of the project consisted of 115,600 LF of 84” and 3,000 LF of 72” of steel pipe. This project also called for 2,262 LF of 120” tunnel at several crossings. Construction of two weir structures, an outfall structure and outfall channel at Lavon. The pipeline was hydrostatic tested in two segments without any leaks on the first attempt.
The project was built through both rural and urban settings within a very restricted easement requiring land owner negotiated compliance and within a 404-permitted wetland. The program was a significant undertaking and was considered a success by NTMWD. The project now complete, adds 91 MGD of raw water supply to Lavon for subsequent treatment and use by NTMWD customers.
