Scope Of Work
After going unused for 20 years, the site of former Starlite Theater in Colonie, N.Y. found new purpose as home to a 150,000-SF office building anchored by financial services firm AYCO. Work began with eight weeks of rock blasting to prepare the site for the new building and its infrastructure. Because of site elevation changes, 25-foot retaining walls were built to protect wetlands to the north. Using Lean principles to eliminate wasted time, materials and effort, LeChase completed the four-story-and-basement core and shell roughly a year after staring the project. It features a metal panel and glass exterior, finished restrooms on each level, a main lobby, entry vestibules, elevators, and mechanical and electrical rooms. LeChase turned over the building ready for tenant fit-out.
