Scope Of Work
Under a Design+Build contract in two separate concurrent locations at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Headquarters Building, Edifice converted areas 6950 and 0100 into new office workspace for recently relocated USDA employees. The project scope called for complete area demolition, which included asbestos abatement, the removal of existing computers, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. The new ADA compliant, design-based office space, includes new walls, partitions, flooring, ceiling grids, new electrical equipment, wiring, HVAC systems, lighting and sensors, life-safety systems, and fixtures. Work for this project was phased during demolition and construction to facilitate the continual and safe use of the occupied facility, without disturbing USDA employees.
The existng AFCU Credit was relocated to the South Building cafeteria as part of this project to increase visibility to the Credit office.
