Scope Of Work
As Prime Contractor for the Design+Build & Renovation of Building 305, Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Battalion located at Fort Myer, VA, Edifice performed various exterior and interior upgrades to the historic building formerly used to house the Buffalo Soldiers. This project for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers included a SHPO review process for the exterior design and construction work. The construction Scope of Work included demolition, reconstruction, reorganization of existing interior workspace, new lighting, ceiling tiles, fixtures, doors, windows, paint, carpet, masonry work, HVAC modifications, plumbing, and installation of a new exterior metal stairwell. The project also involved upgrades to the exterior window louvers and screens, and modifications to the electrical systems to make the building more energy-efficient. During the demolition and construction phases of the renovation, Edifice performed testing and abatement for asbestos and other harmful materials, and provided a continuous vapor retarder, insulation and air barrier to minimize airborne contamination.
