Scope Of Work
Edifice provided Design+Build services to install a Solar Photo-Voltaic Canopy at the 9800 Building of the MPO Campus at Fort Meade. To support the use of renewable energy and alternative fuel vehicles, MPO currently maintains electric vehicle charging stations powered by the main electric grid. This project created a solar-powered PV (Photo Voltaic) canopy to act as the main charging source, with the added flexibility of grid-supplied power as a back-up. The Edifice team designed and constructed a new charging canopy to maximize the use of space and meet the UFC 3-340 anti-blast requirements. Construction and all on-site activities were phased to minimize disruptions to on-going operations at the 9800 building.
