Scope Of Work

Edifice was the Prime Contractor providing Design+Build services for the Memorial Chapel at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. The Memorial Chapel is adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, and performs funeral services on a regular basis for the cemetery. In keeping with the existing Mid-Century Modern chapel design, Edifice designed two large canopies to blend seamlessly with the existing building, while extending the existing roof and ceiling plane. In addition to construction of the new canopies, the existing rosewood doors and woodwork received a marine exterior grade finish, to provide superior UV resistance protective finish, extending the lifespan of the woodwork from additional sun and storm damage. This high profile project was completed in phases, on schedule, and with no additional cost to the government.
