Scope Of Work
PCS, Inc. was contracted to expand the manufacturing area for a Rust-Oleum warehouse in Pennsylvania. Our crews removed 275 racks, each 300’ long by 75’ high, four 75’ high automated isle pickers and installed an automated rack distribution system to speed up the distribution process.
The existing racking system encompassed the entire space of the building, leaving no room to access the racks with man-lifts and material handling equipment. Our team removed a portion of the building’s exterior wall to provide initial access until sufficient racking was removed and space was created. PCS, Inc. utilized man lifts at the opening in the exterior wall to torch-cut the racks down one by one. After enough space was created, racks could be taken down in larger sections to expedite the removal process. Once all racks were removed, the isle pickers were removed with cranes inside of the building. PCS’s specialized team torch-cut the pickers and a crane lowered the pieces safely to the ground for disposal.
