David is the President and founder of Black Box Engineering. Prior to founding Black Box in 2018, David specialized in a variety of complex designs for both new and existing construction, including: low to mid-rise building design using both structural steel and reinforced concrete, shallow and deep foundationdesign, renovations and retrofitting, and the design of structures using CMU, wood, and cold-formed steel. He also served as a field engineer for major public projects, such as the MTA 7 Line Extension and the Hudson Yards Platform.
David received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University, with a minor in Music, and his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University, where he specialized in structural design. He also obtained a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from CUNY Baruch College, specializing in Entrepreneurship.
David is a member of various professional and local organizations, including: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Long Island City Partnership (LICP).
