Scope Of Work
The Velez Organization provided construction management services for all capital improvements completed on all of the existing schools within the Bronx. Construction began in 1993 over one hundred schools were renovated by 1995. Our construction management services were extended for an additional contract period from 1995 to 1997.
Through Velez’s Bronx field office, we supervised the construction in all the Bronx schools which consisted primarily of updating boiler systems, HVAC improvement, roofing window replacement.
Many factors contributed to the complexity of this current project such as the multitude various locations of the sites included, the overcrowding of schools the increased safety concerns in the schools.
To make this project successful, the Velez Organization put together a resourceful project team that scheduled this work on off hours weekends to maximize production. In addition, the team demonstrated its ability to supervise many construction sites at once by achieving positive productivity without neglecting the schools’ needs or enforcing safety issues that are detrimental in this type of sensitive environment.
